RESTIVE Public Service Vehicle (PSV) operators will have a chance to meet and discuss their issues with the Transport Authority on a structured basis.

Following a meeting between PSV representing bodies, Minister of Transport and Works Michael Lashley and the Transport Authority yesterday, it was agreed in principle to allow PSV groups to meet with the Transport Authority every quarter.

Ingrid King, spokesperson for the Alliance of Owners of Public Transport Inc. (AOPT) and the Association of Public Transport Operators (APTO) told the MIDWEEK NATION: “We have been calling for a long time to have a voice on the Transport Authority. As we said before, the obvious people they should be meeting with are the PSV operators, if they want to know about public transport.”

She said she was happy about the decision even though they were not officially given a seat on the authority. (LK)
