Estwick: Tank water is safe

In response to some people’s views the water in the community tanks and even in the water tankers was unclean, Estwick said Barbados’ water was rigidly checked for quality.
“We understand the issues and challenges people face by not having potable water [from their taps], but Barbadians aren’t stupid, if they are going to use water from a tank, they boil it; but the water we supply to them via our community tanks and tankers is water of World Health Organisation standards for drinking,” he said, adding the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) also had a system to check the tanks and have them flushed.
