STEVENSON Belle completed an astonishing unbeaten season by winning a titanic showdown with Suriname’s “Pocket Hercules” Soepe Koese to capture the coveted Darcy Beckles Invitational Classic for the first time at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre on Saturday night.

Belle, who was arguably in the best shape of his life, thundered on stage with 210 pounds of muscle, to prevail in a strong ten-man regional field at the ninth staging of the bodybuilding, bikini fitness and physique event.

Before a audience that included Central American and Caribbean (CAC) president Giovanni Arendsz, Governor of the Central Bank Dr Delise Worrell and former Cabinet Minister Jerome Walcott, he was made to work hard for every cent of the first prize of
$4 000 by Koese, the five-time Mr Suriname champion.

Dynamite in a small package, the 4ft 11in Koese, was ripped to shreds, showcasing huge quadriceps, bulging biceps and a tiny muscular waist. (MK)
