WHEN HEAVY RAIN falls Holetown becomes water town.
This has been the case for a number of years as water flows from elevated areas such as St Thomas and ends up pooling in Holetown on its way to the ocean.
A WEEKEND NATION team visited Holetown to take a look at some of the bushier areas of the city to determine how bad the problem of drainage is in the area as well as how big a problem the areas are for the surrounding businesses.
The large canal which passes under the road leading to the sea is the main artery for water to pass. As there was no rainfall at that time, it looked clear but looks can be deceiving as a look under the bridge revealed a clog of tree branches.
