TWO MATCHES. One day. No advantage.

Barbados and the Dominican Republic are all predictably tied up in their relegation matchup after splitting yesterday’s two opening singles matches of the Americas Zone Group I tie in Santo Domingo.

Playing at the Centro Nacional De Tenis Parque Del Este, world No.132 Darian King briefly gave the Bajans the lead by beating Jose Hernandez in straight sets before Victor Estrella levelled the proceedings via a similarly straightforward win over veteran Haydn Lewis.

Faced with the prospect of going down 0-2, Estrella seemingly felt no pressure in a 6-2, 6-1, 7-6(9) victory after King wasted no time in putting the visitors ahead via a clinical 6-3, 7-5, 6-1 straight-sets win.
