Man accused of gun, ammo, drug charges

A MAN FACING firearm, ammunition and drug charges was remanded to prison when he appeared in court today.

He is 55-year-old Desmond Tyrone Branker of School Lane, Hall’s Road, St Michael.

He is accused of unlawful possession of a firearm; unlawful possession of 72 rounds of ammunition; unlawful possession of cocaine; two counts of unlawful possession of apparatus; unlawful possession of cannabis; possession of cannabis with intent to supply and trafficking of cannabis. 

These offences were allegedly committed yesterday.

According to police, officers on duty along Greenfield, St Michael spotted the accused around 2 a.m.

A subsequent search of Branker’s person reportedly revealed a Ziploc bag containing a quantity of cocaine and an apparatus for the use of drugs.

Police say further investigations were conducted which resulted in the firearm, ammunition, and a quantity of cannabis being discovered.

Branker appeared in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court, where he was remanded to prison to reappear in court on November 28. (PR/NB)
