Bed bites

“Bed bugs are back with a bang. They are all over the place,” principal environmental health officer in the Ministry of Health, Ronald Chapman, said yesterday while addressing the monthly staff meeting of the Nation Publishing Company.
He revealed that over the last three years, there had been major infestation in the Fairchild Street Bus Terminal in Bridgetown and other areas where there was public seating, as well as in private homes and some hotels.
Chapman said the ministry had responded with a treatment programme designed to destroy the bugs in those public areas. However, individuals were responsible for ridding their own homes of the pests, while hotels employed the services of pest control companies. (CG)
