‘Wrong move’

BODYBUILDING’S contentious 2016 season entered another forgettable chapter with three-time defending Mr Barbados champion Stevenson Belle facing a possible ban from the sport after missing a drug test last month.
Belle, who has had an impressive unbeaten season marked by five contest victories, says he has a justifiable reason for not complying with anti-doping officers at last month’s Darcy Beckles Invitational Classic held at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.
The 35-year-old told the WEEKEND NATION he did not comply with the anti-doping officers because they tried to test him in the middle of the competition.
He said: “I will be standing up for my rights. The timing was very wrong, it was very unprofessional, you shouldn’t drug test an athlete in the heat of battle. I have never seen Usain Bolt pulled off the starting line to do a drug test.” (MK)
