YOUNG road tennis player Dario Hinds found out that a wounded lion is still a lion when the World Tournament continued at the Deighton “Pa” Roach Facility on Saturday night.
Having seen his mentor Mark “Venom” Griffith crush Antonio “Lil Man” Daniel in last month’s men’s final of the Monarch Of The Court, Hinds matched Daniel in the opening game to move halfway towards fulfilling his prematch boast of giving his opponent a two-straight whipping.
In the end, however, Daniel won 20-22, 21-7, 21-11.
Hinds won the close first game by avoiding game point (18-20), ignoring the screams of delight when the large crowd of spectators celebrated a Daniel special as well as surviving six deadly “injections”. (KB)
