Pollard tourney set to kick off

THE St George South Development Trust is set to stage the Rondell “Crash” Pollard Memorial Football Tournament for the fifth year.

The tournament is scheduled to start on Sunday will continue until December 30 at the Ellerton ground, St George. 

According to organiser of the tournament, and Member of Parliament for the area, Dwight Sutherland, the essence of the tournament is about sport development within the community. 

“This tournament has benefited all of us in some way. We have seen a number of players emerging, and we know that people make a living through sports,” he said. “We have seen a lot of guys migrate into the BDF (Barbados Defence Force) Sports Programme as a result. (RA)
