FOR THE SECOND time this week torrential rainfall drenched Barbados.
While the Barbados Meteorological Service said it recorded only trace amounts of rainfall at the Grantley Adams International Airport, the rain that fell elsewhere proved more than enough to inundate some areas of the South Coast, leaving roads nearly impassable.
Drivers along the southern portion of the ABC Highway and Highway 7 had to endure long waits yesterday morning as parts of Rockley and other areas were transformed into miniature lakes.
The rainfall had such an effect on the road’s infrastructure that a manhole cover in Hastings came loose. (AD/RL)
