Spooners Hill, Brittons Hill in face-off

ALL EYES will be on former standout national goal shooter Lydia Bishop when she turns out for Spooners Hill Diamonds in their Barbados Workers’ Union’s top-of-the-table title netball match against Brittons Hill at the Netball Stadium tonight.

Both teams are unbeaten and a compelling contest is expected from the first centre pass at 7 p.m., especially in mid-court where another ex-Barbados player, Sabreena Smith, who plays for Brittons Hill, will have a battle with the diminutive centre Quantya Rudder of Spooners Hill.

Smith will get support in midcourt from Shanese Griffith and the versatile, experienced Barbados netballer Latonia Blackman, who is likely to wear the goal attack bib. Either her sister Nadia Blackman or Springer Memorial schoolgirl Jada Smith, Sabreena’s daughter, will be employed in the goal shooter position. (EZS)
