Unbeaten Warrens lead pack

THE BARBADOS Volleyball Association created history on Monday night by staging the Goddard Enterprises Limited Division One League games at two different venues.

However, there was nothing historic about the top-of-the-table clash between league champions Pan American International Insurance Warrens and Carlton, which was played at the Bond at Kensington Oval.

Warrens dumped Carlton in straight sets 25-16, 25-19, 25-21 to end the first round unbeaten with a maximum 25 points. Carlton remained on 16 points.

Following a number of upset victories, Carlton were vying to end the women’s first round in a challenging position. However, their old habit of inconsistent defence, offence and passing doomed them to the loss. (KB)
