Education wastage

THE SCHOOL SYSTEM is still plagued with too much wastage, Minister of Education Ronald Jones has said.

As he flagged the problems, he laid the blame at the feet of some students.

As he addressed the graduation ceremony and awards of the Samuel Jackman Prescod Polytechnic on Saturday night, the minister pointed to tardiness by students as one of the challenges.

Only last week Monday, principal of Coleridge & Parry School in St Peter, Vincent Fergusson, frustrated by the lateness of some students, threw down the gauntlet to the serial latecomers, warning them of the consequences if their actions persisted. (WILLCOMM)
