Boyce favours sluice gate as a solution
MINISTER OF HEALTH John Boyce yesterday appealed to “the powers that be” to resume using a sluice gate at the Graeme Hall sanctuary to help alleviate problems at the South Coast Sewage Treatment Plant.
Sewage has been leaking from a faulty pump at the Graeme Hall, Christ Church facility, despite efforts by workers of the Barbados Water Authority to fix the problem.
Speaking in the House of Assembly yesterday, Boyce said there had been cross-ministry collaboration on a plan to refurbish the entire plant, he said there was possibly a very simple solution.
“My information tells me we are waiting for a super solution, we are waiting for some magical super solution that would allow us all to go to sleep and between the seas and the swamp there is this dialogue,” he said in the House of Assembly yesterday. (WILLCOMM)
