Forde knocks Civil Service staff
SECTIONS OF THE Civil Service came in for a harsh rap yesterday from Member of Parliament for St Thomas Cynthia Forde when the House debated a resolution congratulating Barbados on the attainment of its 50th anniversary of independence.
Forde urged Government to address inefficiencies in the service, citing departments such as the Registry, the Licensing Authority and the Barbados Revenue Authority.
Forde pleaded for improvement in the process of applying for Registry documents such as birth certificates.
Also, for National Insurance benefits, all of which she said were currently causing frustration to applicants who in some instances were losing time from work because of inefficiencies and outdated processes in various departments. (GC)
