Maloney, Thompson win at CMRC

MARK MALONEY and Mark Thompson made off with two titles as Barbados finished second in the country championship for cars at the Seaboard Marine Caribbean Motor Racing Championships (CMRC) at the South Dakota race circuit in Guyana last weekend.

It was the fourth and final round of the 2016 series.

Maloney made a clean sweep as he took the Group 4 two-wheel drive title in his Digicel/RBC/Maloney Racing Team Mazda RX-3.

Thompson, at the wheel of the Stag Beer/Automotive Art/Rock Hard Cement/Glassesco/NKM Clothing/Bio-Beauty/Versatile Construction/Slam 101.1FM/Y103.3FM Civic also swept aside the opposition in winning Group 2 for the third time. (TT)
