SALT FISH was on the menu of CM Catering Zionites hockey players Sunday night at the Dover hard court but they certainly didn’t enjoy the taste.

For the second straight year, Salt Fish were crowned champions in the Wonder Barbados Road Hockey Tournament as they thrashed Zionites 7-2 in the final.

The goal-hungry Dexter Clarke bagged a beaver-trick as he scored his team’s third, fourth, fifth and sixth goals, while Che Warner got a brace and Lisa Crichlow completed Salt Fish’s meal.

Charlia Warner-Franklin scored both goals in a losing cause for Zionites.

In the third-place play-off, Strike Force won 3-1 on penalties over Simplex Trading Vikings after the score was locked 5-5 at the end of full-time.

Goal feast

Earlier, Zionites beat Strike Force 7-5 in the first semi-final, with Mario Moore scoring four goals and Cherise Mapp, Damien Downes and Warner-Franklin one each. Kyle Brathwaite logged four goals for Strike Force and Javier Wharton scored the other.

Salt Fish went on a goal feast in the second semi-final, hammering the Vikings 10-3, with Clarke scoring five goals as he ended with a tournament-high 20. There were braces for Crichlow and Jemar Small, and Jebari Puckerin completed the scoring.

Keron Taylor, with a double strike, and Akeem Douglas scored for the Vikings. (EZS)
