GET ready for the Independence Games beginning this weekend.

The Games, which will comprise 26 sports, were officially launched at the Barbados Olympic Association’s (BOA) headquarters on Wednesday evening.

Giving the opening remarks, BOA assistant secretary general Cammie Burke said the organisers were very pleased with the enthusiastic response from the various sporting federations. The action was slated to begin yesterday with netball and concludes on December 10 with rugby and the regional boxing championships. (AT)
