“HE IS PUNCHING above his weight and holding his own.”
That’s how crew chief and father Sean Maloney described his son Zane Maloney’s chances in today’s qualifying and tomorrow’s US SuperNationals in Las Vegas.
The young Maloney, who made off with the World Karting Association Manufacturers’ Cup Series title earlier this year, will be up against an international field.
The 13-year-old St Michael School student has already secured one win, and scored second and third place finishes in the preparation heats for today’s qualifying for the 21st running of the SuperNationals.
“He is good shape and the experiences he had in the UK and Italy last month have served him well,” Maloney Sr told SATURDAY SPORT from Las Vegas.
