A woman’s horror

WHAT STARTED WITH an unanswered Instagram message for a St Michael woman, ended in a man breaking into her house and trying to rape her just over a week ago.

But while the suspect turned himself into police, the woman, whose name is being withheld for her own security, is calling for rape to be taken more seriously in the country.

In an emotional interview with the DAILY NATION yesterday, the mother of three said she was sleeping two Sunday mornings ago when she was awoken by a notification on her phone.

The 35-year-old said she realised her bedroom door was ajar and she was alerted by what appeared to be a phone’s flashlight. (AD)
