Visitor admits to trafficking cannabis

A CANADIAN VISITOR who pleaded guilty to four drug offences has been remanded to prison pending sentencing.

Nineteen-year-old Yasin Hasan admitted to possession of cannabis, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and importation when he appeared in the District “B” Magistrates’ Court today.

Hasan arrived in the island from Toronto, Canada on Saturday and having cleared immigration at the Grantley Adams International Airport, he received his luggage and proceeded to Customs.

While there, police say a search of his luggage revealed 20 plastic bags each containing cannabis.

The police were informed and Hasan was arrested and charged.

The teenager will return to court on November 24. (PR/NB)
