TEENAGER TRE SOBERS was a mere stone’s throw away from making it back home safely, but he never did.
He died when the route taxi he was in crashed within yards of his Mount Gay Village, St Lucy home on Sunday night. It was a sad end to a day that started out on a joyous note for his family and other relatives with a baby’s christening at St Andrew’s Parish Church.
Tre’s grandmother, who declined to give her name, told the DAILY NATION that the day started well for the family.
“We had a good time at the christening; the preaching, the sermon was good. And then we went to something else at our church, but when we get here it was something to nine, and after nine we get a call about an accident out the road – see how sad it is,” she said. (TSG)
