NO RAIN CAN STOP THIS JAM

The Barbados Tourism Product Authority (BTPA) is inviting residents and visitors to “Come Town” this evening, even as people continue to keep a wary eye on the skies.

Come Town, an evening of entertainment in Bridgetown, got underway earlier.

In a post on their facebook page, BTPA says alternative arrangements have been made.

“We have put a contingency plan in place to ensure the safety of performers and technicians on the barge and patrons on the love boat rides, which were major concerns last week and not just the rain. We invite everyone to come town for an exciting event!” the announcement said.

Come Town will feature entertainment, including Piano on the Boardwalk, a dance showcase and line dance party in Beckwith Square.

There will be heritage tours of St Mary’s Church, the Museum of Parliament and the Nidhe Israel Museum which continues to undergo restoration.

In addition to a display on the water, a craft marketplace and late night shopping, the main event will be a musical concert on the Careenage.

It will feature RPB, Peter Ram, Biggie Irie, calypso queen Aziza and many more entertainers.

A flood warning was issued earlier today until 6 p.m. Conditions will continue to be generally cloudy with showers, periods of rain and possible isolated thunderstorms. (SAT)
