BAJANS WHO HAVE BEEN crying out for relief from the ill effects of overgrown lots and roads choked by bush can expect some relief soon.

Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler told the DAILY NATION this week he expects that the debushing programme, which will be managed by the Ministry of Health, will be launched this month.

He was responding to questions regarding the apparent delay in starting the programme that he announced in his August 2016 Budget, which made provision for $5 million to do the job.

At the time Sinckler said in the House of Assembly: “We will also set aside at least $5 million to go towards the initiation of a national clean-up and debushing programme to be implemented over the next five months to clean this country up.” (RRM)
