THE AYES have it!

The public will have the final say as to who will win the 2017 Banks Calendar Girl Competition, in which $10 000 is at stake.

For the first time an online voting system will replace the stage show, allowing people across the island to vote for the contestant who, in their eyes, possesses “star quality” and is fit to be Banks’ ambassador for one year.

Banks’ category manager Charles Walcott said: “We have had experiences in the past where the judges’ selection was at odds with the popular vote or the People’s Choice winner differed from that of the overall competition winner and so this process eliminates that.”

The public will choose from attractive photos, behind-the-scenes footage and exclusive online interviews with the ladies. People will also get the chance to meet the ladies face to face on December 2 as they descend on Black Pearl Lounge for the popular “Fridaze” event.

The ten ladies have been shaping up with local fitness guru Ramon “Doddy” Dodson in an eight-week boot camp.

The charitable element of the competition has also undergone a minor change, where the overall winner will choose one charity to whichto donate.

Individuals can begin making their choice today via the website bankscalendargirl.com or via Banks Beer’s Facebook page. Voting will end on December 7. (PR)
