SCOTTISH drivers Allan Mackay and Kenny Hall are among nearly 60 drivers already entered for next year’s Sol Rally Barbados.

Organised by the Barbados Rally Club (BRC), which will celebrate its 60th anniversary next year, the event will run from June 2 to 4, with scrutineering and Flow King of the Hill the previous weekend, May 27 and 28.

Known for his crowd-pleasing showmanship, Mackay will be at the wheel of his Ford Anglia WRC – the acronym for which is “well-run car”. It will be his eighth consecutive trip across the Atlantic with this vehicle.

Mackay has twice won SuperModified 10, once on the way to his best overall finish, 26th, in 2014, but a broken throttle cable on the second day of this year’s rally meant he failed to achieve an overall finish for the first time since his first visit in 2010, but he and local co-driver Andrew Croney went on to finish seventh in the Sunday Cup.
