THE Barbados Cycling Union (BCU) has been grounded by the High Court.
And, it has just one week to call an annual general meeting (AGM) and elections.
That’s because the High Court has made an order which prevents the council of the BCU from continuing or performing any duties except for the staging of the AGM.
It followed an application for an injunction filed by attorney Larry Smith, who is representing people “interested in the affairs of the cycling”. It was granted three weeks ago and gave the BCU 21 days from the date the order was served, to call elections. That means only a week is left. (MK)
