Craigwell back at the helm
BARBADOS NETBALL ASSOCIATION president Nisha Craigwell scored a resounding 35-11 victory over challenger Veronica Harris to win her third term in office when the annual general meeting was held at the Barbados Olympic Association’s headquarters on Wednesday night.
Craigwell, who has been on the BNA’s executive since 1997, had first assumed the presidency in 2012. The expected battle royal with sports and tourism consultant Harris never materialised.
Craigwell said she believed that the work which she and her committee had done over the years spoke for itself as shown by the results.
“I do not want to sound arrogant, but I believe that the results turned out exactly as I had expected. We had maintained a good relationship with the clubs and my executive had been working very hard to further develop netball, with particular emphasis on the advancement of our youth. . . (KB)
