Pacer Archer signs new contract with Sussex
BARBADIAN fast-bowling all-rounder Jofra Archer has signed a new two-year contract with Sussex county club in England.
The pacer had initially inked a one-year professional contract in August, but this new deal will see him remaining at Sussex until the end of the 2019 season.
The 21-year-old former West Indies Under-19 bowler enjoyed a fine breakthrough season at Hove, culminating with him winning the Young Player Of The Year award in September at Sussex’s end of season presentation.
He made an impressive first-class debut against the touring Pakistan Test side in July with figures of four for 49 in 22 overs, when he counted the experienced trio Mohammad Hafeez, Azhar Ali and captain Misbah-ul-Haq among his victims. (EZS)
