A PERMANENT HOME for the Barbados Youth Service (BYS) is in the works.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Youth, Ruth Blackman, made the announcement at a BYS graduation, but did not go into details because she said Minister Stephen Lashley would elaborate.

“The minister will have much to say on this in the not too distant future, but this is evidence that the Government of Barbados, through the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Youth, is committed to the empowerment of our young people – including those who may be at risk,” she said.

Blackman was speaking last Saturday at the Radisson Aquatica Resort where 80 young people graduated from the one-year programme. (LK)
