BARBADOS WERE DUMPED from Group I and now their captain has followed suit.
For the first time in 13 years the country’s Davis Cup tennis squad will be under new leadership after its most successful captain, Kevin Yarde, was replaced heading into the 2017 campaign.
Barbados Tennis Association (BTA) council member Bernard Frost broke the news in a wide-ranging interview while announcing the appointment of ITF Level 3 coach Damien Applewhaite to the post.
“Of course the decision wasn’t an easy one. We discussed it at length as to whether making a change would be for the better, and we only make changes for the better and not just for changing sake,” said Frost.
