No joy of water for Christmas
WITH CHRISTMAS INCHING closer, the faith of rural residents in the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) seems to be draining away steadily, and unfortunately so are their water levels.
On Monday many residents of rural Barbados – in Chimborazo, St Joseph; Porey Springs, St Thomas; and down the winding hills of Mount Brevitor, St Peter – said they doubted it would be smooth running of water since that was not the case year-round.
One 86-year-old man in Chimborazo said that although he was not into the Christmas hype, he still had zero faith in the state-owned entity.
“This ain’t going to ever stop. I don’t make any fuss because if you poor you got to take your squeezing but if you are not you will get through,” he said. (MR)
