OFFICIALS at three South Coast hotels have dismissed charges that they were designating sections of the beach adjoining their properties as being for guests only.
In fact, management at Sandals Barbados, Ocean Two Hotel and Dover Beach Hotel in Christ Church all told the DAILY NATION yesterday they were not even in favour of such a move.
Public relations officer of Sandals Barbados, David Hinds, expressed concern that some people would think Sandals Barbados would engage in such a practice.
“People book with our hotel, right? So they have access to the beach chairs, which would have been a cost to us at the hotel to provide, but when someone strolls onto the beach to sit on a chair, that is not our purpose for them,” he explained. (MR/JS)
