Hockey needs help

MEMBERS OF THE Barbados MEN’S Hockey team are appealing to corporate Barbados to assist them in getting to the second leg of the FIH World Hockey League in Tacarigua, Trinidad and Tobago.

The team gave an exceptional performance in the first round of the tournament earlier this year in Mexico, securing a spot in the second round from March 25 to April 2.

Assistant manager of the team, Alain Hinds, told the SATURDAY SUN the management team was doing all it could to ensure the expenses for the tournament were covered.

“So far I have reached out to a lot of the businesses in Barbados and we have some promises of sponsorship and some people have pledged some donations. I sent letters to about 50 to 70 companies just asking for donations.” (RG)
