Celebs could provide ‘boost for economy’
THE PLATINUM COAST is certainly living up to its acclaim.
For the past fortnight, compact cameras, selfie sticks and hand-held video cameras have become the norm at beaches and shopping malls, as the rich and famous continue to flock to these shores.
The list of high-profile tourists include singer and bad boy Justin Bieber, award-winning actor Mark Wahlberg, and model Jourdan Dunne.
Chief executive officer of the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association is hopeful their presence will translate into a serious financial boost for the country’s main sector in 2017.
“The BHTA is extremely happy with the number of international celebrities we have on the island at this time,” new boss Rudy Grant told the SUNDAY SUN yesterday.
