500 plus for Sandals party

OVER 500 PEOPLE rang in the New Year at Sandals Barbados and the hotel’s general manager, Ferry Zievinger,is hailing it as another big success for the Dover, Christ Church hotel.

On the sidelines of the gala dinner and dancing to a line-up of leading Barbadian entertainers, Zievinger told the DAILY NATION: “This year we expanded the party with local entertainment manager Ronnie Morris, and the man really took it up to another level.”

With the band Masala performing for the second consecutive year, and vocalists Philip 7 and Mistah Dale providing a full programme of entertainment on the biggest night of the year, Zievinger said there was “a nice mix of music” for locals and visitors.

Heavy downpours at times drove the jubilant New Year’s Eve revellers under cover, but when the rain subsided, most of them returned to dance in the wet sand, some choosing to do so barefooted. (GC)
