THIS YEAR the Barbados Football Association’s (BFA) Premier League season will return to the National Stadium.

The season, which opens on Sunday at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex, will see games now being played at the Waterford venue after two years of being played at the BFA’s Wildey AstroTurf.

This was confirmed by BFA president Randy Harris is a telephone interview with MIDWEEK SPORT yesterday.

“Originally we wanted to use the Usain Bolt facility, but the cost of so doing was prohibitive at this time. The BFA expects shortly to start work on the bleachers and the lighting at the AstroTurf at Wildey, and basically it will mean a lot of excavation going on up there so that venue is out of the question,” Harris said.
