A MOTHER who stole items, including a $154 pen to give her daughter as a 21st birthday gift, will miss out on the celebrations later this month.

Juliette Patricia Merritt had to surrender her passport on Tuesday, cancelling her plans to travel on January 7 for her daughter’s birthday.

The news was delivered to Merritt, of Upper Carter’s Gap, Christ Church, after she pleaded guilty to stealing two gift bags, a pocket diary and a handbag charm worth almost $60 from Duty Free Caribbean Holdings Ltd on the second day of the year.

She also admitted stealing two portable phone chargers worth $86.99 and a $153.99 pen from the same business. (TKS)
