AAB making things right before elections
CATHERINE JORDAN isn’t running from the polls.
The Athletics Association of Barbados (AAB) president explained that the delay in general elections has come about because the body is still transitioning between constitutions after being mandated to incorporate by the IAAF.
“We had to form a company, so we had to educate ourselves first and then get a lawyer and it has been a very long process. This is a major learning process for me because I am not a lawyer, but we are lucky that I am retired and have the time to engage in this process,” said Jordan.
“We got the incorporation certificate sometime in December, but it was dated in November 17 and after that we were required to make by-laws that fitted the requirements of the Companies Act. . .” (JM)
