THE ADMINISTRATION OF the Royal Barbados Police Force has ordered an internal investigation into claims by two Grenadian sisters that they were ‘humiliated’ by local officers.

Tamika and Lynell Gilbert appeared on a television show on CC6 in Grenada and the video was posted to Facebook this week.

They alleged that they were accused of stealing a cell phone while in a Bridgetown store last October and then detained and strip-searched by police. They described the experience as ‘humiliating’ and called for an apology from the RBPF.

Police spokesman Acting Inspector Roland Cobbler said a press release will be issued following the investigations.  (PR/NB)
