THE PRIVATE SECTOR will have to stump up at least $3.6 million to repave the seven kilometres of road along Highway 1.

Head of Aron and Christina Truss Foundation, Aron Truss, estimated that this was exactly what the Government would pay if it was taking the lead to pave the road from Spring Garden, St Michael, to Holetown, St James. aron-truss-011417

“It is $3.6 million to do the stretch,” Truss told the DAILY NATION yesterday as he explained that the foundation was aiming to raise the funds over a two-month period and start the project in early May.

“That is the same price that C.O. Williams [Construction] won the Government tender to do repaving works at, so it’s the same price the Government would be paying if they were to pay that stretch,” the charity trustee added. (AD)
