Brancker and Band nail it at Naniki

WHEN YOU HEAR NAMES such as Gabby, Grynner, RPB, Alison Hinds, Edwin Yearwood and Trinidadian David Rudder on one stage, it would be fitting to believe they were the stars of the show.

Well, that was certainly not the case Sunday night at Fusion In The Hill at Ilaro Court East, which climaxed the five-day Naniki Jazz Festival.

While the six soca icons all gave superb performances, the night belonged to The Nicholas Brancker Band.

And rightly so, since the event was billed: Nicholas Brancker’s Soca Journey Through The Years.

The nine-member band and three background vocalists, under the direction of ace musician Brancker, got it right from the start of their set at 8 p.m. until the 11:20 p.m. finish. (TTY)
