Keeping the spirit alive
BARBADOS IS LOSING aspects of its community spirit that gave its citizens national pride.
This sentiment was expressed by Attorney General Adriel Brathwaite as he addressed the St John Community Awards on Errol Barrow Day last Saturday at the Gall Hill Playing Field.
The award programme, coordinated by the St John Reunion Committee and the St John Constituency Council, was initially scheduled for last Independence Day, as part of the 50th anniversary of Independence celebrations. However, due to the inclement weather, it was postponed.
Several people from the parish were acknowledged for their outstanding work in the community and wider society. (SB)
