Chargers, Cawmere on a mission

LEAGUE KINGS Chargers will be going after their third double crown honour, while Cawmere will be vying for their first knockout title when the final of the Goddard Enterprises Limited senior men’s knockouts climax on Sunday.

On Wednesday night Cawmere advanced to their first final by ending the Houdini-like escape illusions of Flow Deacons in five pounding sets 25-22, 28-26, 14-25, 21-25, 15-13 at Oldbury, St Philip.

Deacons had sneaked into the semi-finals in their last game against Chargers and in spite of the thunder from Shawn Simpson, Deacons rebounded from two sets down and a 3-6 deficit in the decider to lead 10-8 in the fifth set.(KB)
