Sam Lord’s hype

THE UPCOMING REBUILDING of Sam Lord’s Castle will spark fresh business in the area and the people who live and work around there are excited for its revival.

“Sam Lord’s coming back will enhance our chances of survival. In fact, once out there gets going, we plan to put some micro businesses in place – barber shops, eateries, like that,” said co-owner of the Oasis minimart, Oswald Grant.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Freundel Stuart announced construction work would begin in March, reviving Sam Lord’s after years of decline and ruin.

The minimart’s other owner, Linette Lall, said it would give the existing businesses a boost. (CA)
