Prepping youth for future

STUDENTS FROM THREE public secondary schools are being equipped with the necessary skills to prepare them for the world of work.

Last year Ellerslie Secondary School conducted a pilot programme to prep 5th form students for the workplace. This year,St George Secondary and Frederick Smith Secondary joined the programme. The topics covered included résumé writing, effective communication, business attire and conflict resolution.

On Thurdsay at Divi Southwinds Beach Resort, in Christ Church, 18 students from Ellerslie and six from Frederick Smith got the opportunity to learn about acceptable business practices and behaviour.

Facilitator of the programme, Sandra Griffith-Carrington, advised students on preparing for job interviews with interactive sessions on the subject. (SB)
