WILD CAT TEA justified the tag favourite in the Valentine Day Handicap over 1 100 metres yesterday at the Garrison Savannah with an easy three-length win under jockey Rickey Walcott.

In the process, trainer Robert Peirce shared the spotlight by winning a treble.

The feature saw Aysha Syndicate’s six-year-old Wild Cat Tea make a winning return to the winners enclosure for the first time in two years, defeating horses rated 100-80 and lower on the Barbados Turf Club’s fourth day of the first season the Valentine Raceday.

The Anderson Ward trainee sprinted away from the gates and was never challenged throughout, even though stablemate Just My Girl ran the race of her life to secure the runners-up position.
