THE National Union of Public Workers (NUPW) has taken issue with the recent appointment of new coaches at the National Sports Council (NSC) while close to 20 long-standing temporary coaches are still to be appointed.
And more than two months after writing to the NSC requesting an urgent meeting
to discuss the issue, the NUPW is still awaiting a response from the state-run entity.
In a letter from NUPW acting deputy general secretary Delcia Burke to the NSC director dated December 6 – a copy of which was obtained by the SUNDAY SUN – it was pointed out that Government had recently agreed to a request from the NUPW to appoint all temporary employees with more than three years’ service.
The NUPW, therefore, has asked the NSC to follow suit. (HG)
