Visitor airlifted to Miami after sea incident

THE VISITOR WHO was pulled from the waters off Hilton Barbados yesterday has been airlifted to Miami for further medical treatment.

Sixty-two-year-old American Rick Chipman, a guest at the hotel, was seen floating face down in the water around 12:45 p.m.

He had to be pulled ashore by the lifeguard on duty.

Chipman was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance where his condition was listed as serious.

He left the island today.
